About/Interesting Fact: Northern cardinals are non-migratory birds, staying in Indiana year-round. Once they find their mate, they stick together throughout the year. Both male and female northern cardinals also sing where they share song phrases to communicate during nesting time.

About/Interesting Fact: Blue jays are also an year-round species in Indiana like northern cardinals. They are known for high intelligence as a highly sociable birds, being capable of using tools and recalling where they buried their food. They also mimic the calls of hawks to warn other blue jays.
